November 2020 Update + Might Leave(?)
Hey, just giving a small update. Comms are going well, I've been doing 'em for the last 5 months or so, excluding last month, where I instead did a daily sketch challenge - I'll post those eventually.
Mostly just writing this to say I'm honestly pretty disgusted by this site's policy/method dealing with commissions, seeing a subscription being necessary to cash in points ON TOP of them taking a percentage cut is a huge scam and has soured me to this site more than before. Just a word of advice to any artist: HANDLE COMMISSIONS YOURSELF; NOBODY SHOULD BE TAKING A CUT EXCEPT SERVICES OF MONEY TRANSFER!! Get yourself some pricing sheets, a well written ToS, and charge people via invoice. Do not use anything like Deviantart as a middleman. I used to be a bit of a policy defender for DA considering most of the artist rights scandals previously are simply issues related to the site's ability to host the user's content that they maintain rights over, but this attempt to steal 20%+ off the top of artist's comms has got me thinking the management is a bit greedier than expected and it just feels a bit nefarious and gross. I'll probably finish my uploads up to the end of the year, but I don't think I'm going to continue supporting this site going forward in any capacity of things don't change soon. I've always been a little turned off by the culture of this site anyway (lower engagement, encouraging vastly undersold commissions, etc. etc.) but now it seems a bit more clear that this just isn't really a great place for artists. Thanks to anyone who's stuck around all this time, I am available elsewhere, just check my page.
EDIT: I'm considering continuing to upload but I have no interest in a subscription or really building an audience here - I VERY much appreciate the folks I've made friends with here, I just don't think this site works for me on a social, personal, or business level. I'll remain very passive here.
August 2020 Update
Hey everyone! It's been over a year since I've updated my page or submitted anything, until yesterday. Since it's been a while, I guess I'll say, I go by Paige now, for those who don't know! I don't think I'll ever be as active as I was before, but just so y'all know, I've been taking commissions lately (primarily over on Twitter). I don't personally find posting commission openings on Deviantart all too useful (the culture surrounding very cheap, very undersold artwork and the use of abstracted "points" makes it essentially impossible to do it practically) but I do intend to post artwork again. I may trim down my following list a bit to see more of my favorite artists again that I don't see on Twitter much. I also am not sure if I'll be using Core again, unless this site becomes more active/useful for comm posting somehow. I've narrowed my active online presence almost entirely to Twitter, so I only intend to use this site as a gallery for folks who only check this site.
For anyone who's curious about my commissions, I open them at the beginning of every month from my art Twitter account (@videobun_art). The official post will be going up later this evening (currently 8:30AM where I am) As far as other updates go, I've been doing alright this last year, and been staying safe despite the pandemic. I'm trying to be more serious about doing art for work, and things are coming along relatively well. I may eventually open my Patreon for comic and process art once comms are stable. That's pretty much it I guess. For anyone reading, I appreciate it! While I won't be super active on DA, I appreciate all the likes, comments, etc. and any general positive feedback received over the years! Thanks.

somehow "good lord" and "my word" have become more common reaction phrases and I don't know why. probably to swear less but also because they just sound funny because I sorta associate it with older people.

white like Anri or purple like Mauve. or DARK blue like Paige. basically any of my personal characters/sonas hair colors.
honestly been cutting lots of sweet drinks out of my diet but every once in a while if anyone in my family offers somethin' from starbucks i'll get unsweetened passion tango tea lemonade... it's got this flavor that kind of low key reminds me of those sour mango altoids that were discontinued???
and uh... aside from that i'm a big fan of literally any kind of colorful fruit sodas, teas, and other drinks :0
honestly i just get really sucked into video games, I finished Sekiro 100% and had a blast with that, I'm not sure what i'll move onto but I also finished Ori and the Blind Forest a month ago (just one playthrough) and uhhh... have been playing quite a bit of Risk of Rain 2 and Slay the Spire.
Aw heck, I used to think I wanted to do something with art like at a serious big scale level but now I'm more content doing it as a hobby. If I could have a low stress work environment just doing my own comics at my own pace making a living and doing volunteer work (stuff that's not super corporate, competitive, and actually benefits society and isn't paperwork heavy etc.) that'd be the dream.
Totally depends. If they're just kind of a jerk I might distance myself from them but still appreciate their work if they were a major source of inspiration... but if they were like SUPER horrible I basically just give up on 'em. I'll still appreciate what I used to like them for in the past (like, old music, artwork, etc.) but I'll never follow them or give them any exposure or money. If it's something that can be forgiven then I'll hope they apologize with sincerity but if it's something I consider unforgivable then y'know... rip.
Heck, that's a tough one because I don't think I really got anything THAT special lately but I got a new mousepad from Hyena Agenda that's pretty nice lookin' (tangential to gaming but not actually a game) aaaand I started wearing headbands a few months back, I love the ones I got with flower patterns ;w;
Digital for the most part but traditional marker drawings are fun, I tend to stick with cheap tools like Pentel sign pens and Sharpies and draw on notecards or in a sketchbook. Those're fun, I'm more into doing loose sketchy stuff lately (partially due to a little lack of motivation but still enjoying it)
honestly i haven't thought about this in a while x_x but I guess in part due to my lack of familiarity with many others and partly due to just liking smaller ones I like velociraptors?
hmmm my cheat answer would be something like a gameboy but my genuine answer that doesn't involve a screen might be like, a radio or flowers? I can't decide! I'm basic, my fave is always TVs when they're allowed haha
YUP! 100%, I'm like super on track with how much water I drink! I've heard ppl say it feels almost like a chore but I don't get that feeling in the slightest... always hydrated >
September 2018 Update
TL;DR Will still post, check people's art, and read notes/messages/comments, but I'm not going to put any more time/attention that the bare minimum. Basically how it's been for the last few months, except maybe a slight bump up in consistency.
